Artist statement: I chose to use my shell photos for this shadows project. I thought of what is related to a shell and I thought about snails and then I thought it would be interesting to do a snail shadow. The only trouble I had was making sure that right next to where the shadow and shell meet that they do not overlap, and make sure there was no gap. I don't think I did such a great job at this but I did try my best.
Story: One day there was a snail. That day the snail decided it wanted to go for a walk. When he went for a walk, he tried to cross the street but he was too slow so he got hit by a bus. The snail did not survive, but however its shell did. People say that the snails shell still exists and will live on forever. Some even say that the snail still lives today, and is faster than ever.
Artist statement: I chose to take pictures of another shell. I chose this shell in particular because it had very nice colors on the inside of the shell. I chose to make the shadow a sun because I thought the colors in the shell looked like a sunset so I thought why not just do a sun for my shadow. The only trouble I had taking this image was seeing what angle I should take the picture at to make the best shadow.
Story: At one time there was a family of 5 shells deep in the blue sea. They were a very happy family, and had all they ever wanted. But one day, there was a tsunami. And all members of the shell family were shattered exempt for one shell that survived. That specific shell was always so bright and nice; even after its families death it still managed to stay bright like it always was, some say it was as bright as the sun. Even its shadow was bright in some way; a shadow shaped as a sun.
Artist statement: I chose to take pictures of shells. I chose to take reflection pictures of this shell because I love the detail of the shell and I like how the shadow goes well with the design of the shell. The only trouble I had taking images of this shell is making sure there was no noise in the background which I think I did very well adding white paper to make sure there was absolutely no noise in the background and you can see the shadow very clearly.
Artist statement: I chose to take pictures of shells. I chose this shell because from this angle of the shell I liked the spirals of it. I also like how the shadows sort of match the shell like if the shell spirals would've went on the shadows represented what it would've looked like. The only trouble I had taking this photo was making sure that the shadow sent forward. Because the angle I was photographing at the shadow wanted to go backward so I couldn't of seen the shadow. So i changed my light source so the shadow was in front of the shell so I could've done the spiral shadows that I wanted to do.
